1st NHL 11 tournament is announced on Consolehockey Network for Playstation 3.
Registration dates: 18th october - 25th october (23:59 GMT)
Tournament dates: 1st november - 19th december, including Group stage: 1st november - 28th november Playoffs: 1st december - 19th december
Tournament formula: Group stage: 38 teams will be seeded by TGMA in groups. 16 will go to playoffs. Playoffs: Best of 5 games (Till 3 wins)
Group stage system: 38 teams are devided in 3 groups A, B, C. Group A has 12 teams, 5 will pass to playoffs Group B has 13 teams 5 will pass directly to playoffs Group C has 13 teams, 5 will pass directly to playoffs 16th team that will pass to playoffs will be best 6th team in group B or C.
If teams have equal points: 1. More regulation time wins 2. Better puck difference 3. More goals scored
Playoff seeding: Main rule. Highest team always play with lowest team (as in NHL). Teams are seeded according to common tournament table of 3 combined groups by Average points per game parameter.
Point system on group stage: Win in regulation time - 3 points Win in overtime - 2 points Lost in overtime - 1 point Lost in regulation - 0 points
Roster restrictions: - 8 players in roster minimum - Maximum 1 North American player on ice (cannot be a captain)
Disconnection issue: In group stage - if goalie disconnects/quits team will be banned by 6 points after each 4th disconnect/quit. In playoffs - will be decided later
Tournament rules: Tournament will use common EHL rules (will be updated)
